Northeast Ohio

Big City Access with Deep Community Roots

You might have heard of some of the big names to come out of Northeast Ohio (Lebron, Drew Carey, and a President or two), but what you might not know is that NEO is also home to historic small towns, beautiful landscapes and some of the most prestigious hospitals, organizations and schools in the country.

Historic Small Town Charm

Northeast Ohio is packed with towns, boroughs and just-the-right-size small cities where your only real issue will be deciding where to live. Many towns boast mom and pop diners right alongside new breweries, or tiny shops lining quiet streets just a few miles from big city amenities.

Visit the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton, old-time candy store The Peanut Shoppe in Akron, or one of the many restaurants or eateries in the area. Take a trip to Amish country for delicious homemade food, hand-crafted furniture and idyllic scenery. Or head to one of NEO’s wineries or farms for tastings and hay rides.

Affordable Housing, a Long Sports Tradition

Long tradition of high school footballIf you’re living close to our Brewster or Massillon plants, choose from apartment living or find a home in a quiet neighborhood. While newer communities are being built in the surrounding areas, many neighborhoods boast historical homes and quiet village charm.

Brewster embodies that small-town America feel, with community garage sales and free concerts in the park. Massillon once boasted a busy canal, and still embodies that bustling spirit of commerce.

Both Brewster and Massillon take pride in a long tradition of high school football and sports teams, perfect for the family with active kids.

Metropolitan Living (without the Metropolitan Rent)

When you’re ready to experience big city fun, take a forty-minute drive to Cleveland, home to two pro sports teams, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, a Great Lake and everything in between.

Catch a show in Playhouse Square, visit the historic West Side Market or take the kids to the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo. Grab a hotdog at an Indians game in the summer, or an ice-cold beverage with the 2016 NBA Champs, the Cleveland Cavaliers, in the winter.

Shearer’s Snacks is proud to call Northeast Ohio our first home. Our family started here and we count this community as partners in helping us grow.
