You might not have heard of us, but you’ve certainly tasted our snacks! In fact, we’re the largest producer of the private label snacks America loves and the largest producer of kettle cooked chips in the world, and we’re looking for a Human Resources Administrator at our Bristol, VA location.

A Day in the Life of a Human Resources Administrator

The HR Administrator position completes human resources duties, such as screening, recruiting, interviewing, and placing workers, while also processing and maintaining personnel related documentation. This is to be accomplished through the use of effective employee selection techniques, the recording of data such as weekly earnings and supervisory reports for each employee, and the effective communication of company policies to employees or job applicants.

  • Interprets and explains human resources policies, procedures, laws, standards, and regulations
  • Hires employees and processes hiring-related paperwork
  • Informs job applicants of job position details, such as duties and responsibilities, compensation, benefits, schedules, working conditions, and promotion opportunities
  • Maintains current knowledge of the Equal Opportunity and Affirmative Action guidelines and laws
  • Schedules new employee orientations
  • Selects qualified job applicants or refers them to managers, making hiring recommendations when appropriate
  • Reviews employment applications and job orders to match applicants with job requirements
  • Conducts background checks on job applicants
  • Contacts applicants to inform them of the status of their applications
  • Performs searches for qualified job candidates
  • Implements recruiting strategies to meet current or anticipated staffing needs
  • Evaluates selection and testing techniques using appropriate professional, statistical, and testing strategies, and recommends revisions as needed

Records and maintains thorough employee documentation

  • Provides management with information related to interviewing, performance appraisals, or documentation of performance issues
  • Enters, verifies, and maintains all personnel documentation, including personal data, compensation, benefits, tax data, attendance, performance evaluations, and termination data
  • Updates manufacturing plant signage daily, tracking important dates for employees
  • Maintains knowledge of legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resource functions, and ensures policies, procedures, and reporting are in compliance
  • Analyzes employment-related data and prepares required reports
  • Utilizes and maintains documentation related to employee and company concerns, such as performance appraisals

A Well-Rounded Team
