7 Things to Enjoy in Northeast Ohio this Spring

Lanterman's Mill Creek Park in OhioSpring is one of the best times of year to explore Northeast Ohio. Check out some of our favorite places and things to do…and don’t forget the snacks!

  1. I-X Indoor Amusement Park
    Operating for just a few weeks at the end of March through April, this indoor amusement park is built with families in mind. Tickets are affordable and there is truly something for everyone in this 20 acre indoor park (which is perfect for unpredictable Ohio spring weather).
  1. MAPS Air Museum
    Check out cool vintage planes and military weaponry, plus get a piece of history at the MAPS Air Museum in Canton. This all-volunteer, non-profit organization is interactive and gives the whole family a chance to have fun and learn. Bonus: kids six and under get in free!
  1. Geocaching
    This free and fun outdoor activity truly lets the whole family explore. Get the app on Apple or Android, then traipse around Northeast Ohio looking for cool stuff.
  1. Lanterman’s Mill
    Visit this historic mill and see it operate the same way it did in the 1800s. While a visit isn’t completely free for folks six and up, it is $2 or less per person, so it’s still super affordable!
  1. Second Sundays at the Cleveland Museum of ArtExpress yourself with free art making activities every second Sunday at the Cleveland Museum of Art. From print making to dance to other hands-on projects, it’s a fun way to show your creative side together.
  1. Geauga County Maple Festival
    Love all things maple syrup? Then you’ll love the activities and events of the Maple Festival. With events beginning in March and the festival at the end of April, there are lots of ways to enjoy the nearly 100 years of this great Northeast Ohio tradition. 
  1. Fish CLE for Free
    If you and your kids love fishing, late spring is a fantastic time to do just that, for free! For two days in May, you can fish in three different fishing zones on the lake. Plus, kids can show off their drawing skills in the chalk art zone, or partake in a number of other activities throughout the weekend.
